Venice Cali - Home Sweet Home

I'm a Lucky girl - i moved (yes yes again, I know...) from beloved San Francisco to Venice Cali.  Both amazing but Venice is definitely where my heart is at, for now ;) .  Seriously you can't beat the weather, people, awesome vibes, it's perfection.

While ca-roozin down the street with my girls (Katie and kelly) Katie spotted this yard sale.  We somewhat slowed down to do a drive by viewing. Seemed good so we pulled a u -turn right there, totally worth it.  Come to find out the guy - Jordan, who is a high school teacher, goes to Bali to surf when he can.  There he hand selects and brings back amazing home goods.  Gorgeous gorgeous finds with tons of potential.

Check these out.  I bought the only 2 left. Perfect for a little spice in my new room (maybe living room but not sure if i want to share them). They can be little end tables and/or stools. Which brings me to my first Small Space Tip: small spaces need multi functional furnishings. This optimizes functions with still considering the look and style.

I love them! This is a great start to my new town :)

Ethnic Vibe

Ethnic Vibe trendy or here to stay?  Seems this look is pretty timeless, although extremely trendy as of right now. It's definitely "in" in  fashion and interior decor.  I personally think its a playful way to design, it adds great pops of color in a sophisticated mature manor.

Try some faltering sophisticated ikat textiles around your home, to give this look a try.  Mix in some dark woods tones, variations of textures (baskets, fuzzy or shaggy throws, or rugs) and you will be on your way to the Ethnic Vibe. Here are some affordable throw pillows options to start you out.

even just one - gives a  great vibe

a few interior inspirations too....

LOVE!

Black and white but has great  pattern

It doesn't just have to be ikat. Look at this awesome chair -   It's a mid-century chair with multiple fabrics. Good news you don't just have to decide on one fabric. It's also green.  ;)

I want one..

OHHH San Francisco

at Filmore and Haight St. - Lower Haight, San Fran

Street art is bomb in SF to start with, but Lower Haight probably has some of my favorites. I've spotted a few early Banksy pieces around the city as well. It's pretty amazing how tagging evolved from illegal acts to legit works of art.  Street art is now appreciated like fine art in galleries. To me murals in the streets are even more amazing, considering the surface, scale, and sometime heights of which they are created at.

Fall in love with some Street art? Photograph it, blow it up, mat and frame it or get inspired an create your own.  Point is it's amazing art, use it in your home.

FABRIC JACKPOT

Just so happens Lower Haight is great for fabric finds too.  Look at these babies
