Grand Canyon

Road trip to the Grand Canyon,
UNBELIEVABLE!!
We stopped at a few places along the way

Just your average thursday sighting- 13 hot air-balloons WHAT!  so cool!

Stopped at Montezuma Castle, an ancient Indian Village

We' re here!!

This person is seriously insane, But he gives a great scale

Thanks Nana and Grandpa for the awesome awesome trip!  There are no words to describe the sites that day.  :) xoxox

check this awesomeness out by Serena
a local artist.
My cousin and I both bought a small piece of art while we were there.

Desert, Sand and Cactus

HEY!  from the desert of Phoenix Arizona.
Today was gorgeous! I'm here on a little family vaca.  My cousins are on spring break, they wanted to spend it with our grandparents so I jumped at the chance to see them and chill with my Nana and Grandpa.

I am getting super inspired out here.  The cacti are ridiculous! the flower colors are so vibrant against all the tan. It's so different to me then my usual surroundings of lush palm tree, and succulents.

sooo thought this was awesome- I've always wondered what was under all those spikes.

Check yo-self

Happy Sunday!
Good Morning Venice!

Yes I may have had to many cups of coffee, But

There is always so much to do!
Laundry, dishes, grocery shopping, inventory, invoices, phone calls, emails....
STOP IT PEOPLE!  I am just as bad, if not the worst, about trying to get everything on my "list" checked off.
Reality check (specially for me)  the list never goes away.

This is what i have been missing.

This Just baffles me

PUT YOUR PHONE(s) DOWN!, GET OFF YOUR COMPUTER.  Take time to just be

Color Blocking

I just about own every bright color pant/legging you can possibly think of.  Ha!  So why not take it into your interiors.

I love bold colors (obviously) but sometimes they can be a bit to overwhelming and I admit, kinda scary to paint entire walls or rooms  - so still go for it! just maybe in a smaller more inventive way i like to think of it as color blocking your space.

Nothing to crazy just some solid colors, simple accents and clean lines.

Lines, splines... go for some shapes! different plans! and a monochrom pallet

paint a funky focal wall

Or accent/ mimic architectural features

Exteriors too
this is a pretty Literal color blocking..hahahah but still rad.

These came up in my search and I just couldn't resist.
I wish these weren't made of paper, so I could wear them!
where were we...

COLOR!!

It's the same as an outfit, you just layer, with pops of solid colors, and throw on some accent of anything you love - silver, gold,  sparkle whatever your into.

Hotness!
Here is a great example, complementary colors: blue and orange with an accent of silver

or this BEAUTY - so bright so happy! lets use this as an inspiration

I used  a mustard, brick, coral and hot pink for a punch.  My accent is natural wood. Then I contrasted that with a  steel coffee table.  I have to say I am a sucker for contrast and mid century boho. Simple easy no clutter ;)

And there you have it color blocking in interiors :)

Chicken Beet Everything Salad

This is probably my favorite (summer , for  those of you who don't live in so cal) lunch ever!  My man and I came up with this when we barely had anything left in the fridge.  So we used the rest of whatever we had.  Soo the measurements are not very perces.

The Basic Ingredients:

1 can (12.5 oz) of white chicken in water
2 stocks of celery, washed
1 handful of snow peas or sugar peas
1 organic apple (i like Gala but you can use whatever)
2 of the 4 baby beets (steamed and peeled-Trader Joe's)
1 handful of any type of nut or trail mix - (trail mix w/ dried fruit is my preference)

So as you can see you can pretty much add any veggies,  Just chop into smaller then bite-size pieces.

Now for the Dressing:

3- 4 tablespoons of plain (greek, or goat) yogurt  NO MAYO!
1 lemon or lime (whichever you have, Lime is my fav but both work)
Couple dashes of  rice vinegar
Couples dashes of Sriracha for some heat- or more if you like spicy
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
Salt & Pepper to your liking

Serve with blue corn chips, on whole wheat toast, or simply eat with a fork
It wont disapoint no matter how you eat it.

Healthy, tasty..sooo good :) Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Dream Home

Staged my dream home this week!   aahhhhh :) be prepared to drool, concrete floors high ceilings, tons of natural light, roof deck, garage.. the only thing missing is a brick wall but it has cinder blocks soo it passes.

LINE Madness

Although this was over 2 weeks ago i still feel the need to blog about it. Since it consumed my life entirely for a week ( i still feel bad for canceling our valentines day plans - sorry Love), working 14-16 hour days and over the weekend. The end result is pretty sweet.  Simple and Graphic.

I get this email for the fab Amber of Amber Interiors asking for some assistance for this office make over she just received.  The catch was I needed to be done in one week  I was thinking alright small office - no problem we can so do this!. - Well it was not so small, and yet we still rocked it. Thanks to many amazing worker bees, Katie (Ambers kick-ass Assistant), Mikey, Her Handy bro Ryan, course me, the Recon team (peeps that worked there) and the brains behind the madness Amber.

Amber had rad inspirations for the space and it was my job to give her options of how to translate her vibe into reality - so I came up with some varying diagonals that stretched across just two of the walls. Let the line madness begin..lol

after some tweaks - All done

we even tried duck tape lines

Moving into the conference room.

Ohh sooo there was a murel that was suppose to take up this entire wall behind the desk, a stick to the wall type or murel. Of course it didn't stick, that is how bumpy the walls are..haha soo Yours truly got to paint some more lines last minute.
Not so shabby ;)

Hang art, hang cabinet, shop IKEA world, build wood boxes, polly a wood wall, paint lines, touch up lines, organize, clean and wait more lines..

All done

For some before and after pics go to Amber's blog ;) She's amazing!
