Color Blocking

I just about own every bright color pant/legging you can possibly think of.  Ha!  So why not take it into your interiors.

I love bold colors (obviously) but sometimes they can be a bit to overwhelming and I admit, kinda scary to paint entire walls or rooms  - so still go for it! just maybe in a smaller more inventive way i like to think of it as color blocking your space.

Nothing to crazy just some solid colors, simple accents and clean lines.

Lines, splines... go for some shapes! different plans! and a monochrom pallet

paint a funky focal wall

Or accent/ mimic architectural features

Exteriors too
this is a pretty Literal color blocking..hahahah but still rad.

These came up in my search and I just couldn't resist.
I wish these weren't made of paper, so I could wear them!
where were we...

COLOR!!

It's the same as an outfit, you just layer, with pops of solid colors, and throw on some accent of anything you love - silver, gold,  sparkle whatever your into.

Hotness!
Here is a great example, complementary colors: blue and orange with an accent of silver

or this BEAUTY - so bright so happy! lets use this as an inspiration

I used  a mustard, brick, coral and hot pink for a punch.  My accent is natural wood. Then I contrasted that with a  steel coffee table.  I have to say I am a sucker for contrast and mid century boho. Simple easy no clutter ;)

And there you have it color blocking in interiors :)

Chicken Beet Everything Salad

This is probably my favorite (summer , for  those of you who don't live in so cal) lunch ever!  My man and I came up with this when we barely had anything left in the fridge.  So we used the rest of whatever we had.  Soo the measurements are not very perces.

The Basic Ingredients:

1 can (12.5 oz) of white chicken in water
2 stocks of celery, washed
1 handful of snow peas or sugar peas
1 organic apple (i like Gala but you can use whatever)
2 of the 4 baby beets (steamed and peeled-Trader Joe's)
1 handful of any type of nut or trail mix - (trail mix w/ dried fruit is my preference)

So as you can see you can pretty much add any veggies,  Just chop into smaller then bite-size pieces.

Now for the Dressing:

3- 4 tablespoons of plain (greek, or goat) yogurt  NO MAYO!
1 lemon or lime (whichever you have, Lime is my fav but both work)
Couple dashes of  rice vinegar
Couples dashes of Sriracha for some heat- or more if you like spicy
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
Salt & Pepper to your liking

Serve with blue corn chips, on whole wheat toast, or simply eat with a fork
It wont disapoint no matter how you eat it.

Healthy, tasty..sooo good :) Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

LINE Madness

Although this was over 2 weeks ago i still feel the need to blog about it. Since it consumed my life entirely for a week ( i still feel bad for canceling our valentines day plans - sorry Love), working 14-16 hour days and over the weekend. The end result is pretty sweet.  Simple and Graphic.

I get this email for the fab Amber of Amber Interiors asking for some assistance for this office make over she just received.  The catch was I needed to be done in one week  I was thinking alright small office - no problem we can so do this!. - Well it was not so small, and yet we still rocked it. Thanks to many amazing worker bees, Katie (Ambers kick-ass Assistant), Mikey, Her Handy bro Ryan, course me, the Recon team (peeps that worked there) and the brains behind the madness Amber.

Amber had rad inspirations for the space and it was my job to give her options of how to translate her vibe into reality - so I came up with some varying diagonals that stretched across just two of the walls. Let the line madness begin..lol

after some tweaks - All done

we even tried duck tape lines

Moving into the conference room.

Ohh sooo there was a murel that was suppose to take up this entire wall behind the desk, a stick to the wall type or murel. Of course it didn't stick, that is how bumpy the walls are..haha soo Yours truly got to paint some more lines last minute.
Not so shabby ;)

Hang art, hang cabinet, shop IKEA world, build wood boxes, polly a wood wall, paint lines, touch up lines, organize, clean and wait more lines..

All done

For some before and after pics go to Amber's blog ;) She's amazing!

My Small Space I Call Home

HAPPY NEW YEAR PEEPS!! My holiday company is gone and the dogs are in.  My room mate and i both happen to say yes to watching friends/bosses pets.  Did i mention that our flat is a large 500 sq. ft, and yet i wouldn't want it any bigger.  Welcome to my home and the doggie madness.

this is Sarg

Just cut these this am love fresh flowers

This little table was a goodwill find for 10 bucks, score!

and this cuddle bear is Ella

as you can see they are pretty wild

My rug is freakin fabulous - i mean i sure think so

LEAVE THINGS OUT
I seriously leave some of my favorite shoes and clothes out - why not they are sooo pretty!
I love to shop what what women doesn't u can get great idea's from store displays or even purchase their display holders - Anthropology and Urban Uutfitters have great jewelry displays.

Splurged on some holiday dresses and i so can't put them in the closet yet.

If i use it everyday it stays where i can use it.  I picked it out cause i liked it. So my moto is just to surround yourself in it, use it, appreciated and enjoy it's beauty.

Coat/ hat rack another great thrift find 3$, sanded it painted it obviously my favorite color.

It's bad feng shui to have a mirror right when you walk in.  All the positive energy bounced right out, so i hung my adored Vogue right over the top. Ohhh yeah and that is cedar paneling. It's on 2 of my 4 walls which i totally love it's character.  Embrace your small homes character.

SPACE  SAVERS!

Grundtal Rail Series From IKEA it's a life saver.  The knife holder also Grundtal. You are literally looking at our entire kitchen counter space.  That huge cutting board is also from IKEA (course right) and amazing to chop things and push them right in the sink.  It's a great additional work surface. Ok so it's not the cheapest rail system they have, but it is the strongest so go for this one!

I lucked into finding this folding table, it was free!  After a little TLC it becomes the perfect little eatin kitchen table.  If i want if bigger i can just fold up the other side. Small space must!

So keep our eyes out for one of these at a goodwill and i know they have tables like this at IKEA too.  It seriously is the best place to get small space furniture and great ideas!

Our linin closet and my frame storage. We have no linin closet at all so why not put a shelf in the hall way above the door.  Yes you have to have a folding stool (i keep under my sofa) but it works great!

USE WHAT U ALREADY LOVE
More pattern and color!!!  My closet honestly inspires me.  Good way to vibe color waves, finding patterns that you like and what works together.

NEW YEAR NEW VIBE
New inspiration board for the year, one thing up so far, I'll post when i get it completed.
Goal is her hair - so long and crazy, it's to remind me not to cut mine.  I always give in and cut it soooo no more.

Go out an conquer your small space u will be amazed what you cram in. OMG yes i just went there, so bad.
