So these are my colors I'm obsessed with as of right now, with accents of gold and black and white. The cobalt blue and dark purple act pretty neutral in the space. I know what your thinking - how is blue and purple a neutral? "Neutrals" in the color world are different then actual neutrals, like beige, tans, whites, etc. These "neutral colors" i am referring to are colors that allow you to mix other colors with them. without being overwhelming. This helps for people like me, who have a hard time choosing just 3 main colors. So you can pick a few deeper colors in the same tonal range then layer some bright pops thought out the space.
This is a great example of "neutral colors" (the cobalt blue and deep purple) with a pop of turquoise and gold. The gold is in the yellow family so it works great as an accent to the purple (purple and yellow are complimentary-or directly across from each other on the color wheel). The black and white rug help to ground the furniture and all the colors ;) If you go crazy colors with the furniture and textiles I personally like to keep the rug with black and white - pattern can be whatever.
